Fancy yourself as a journalist? We'll visit the newspaper professionals at the Press, learn all about the function and structure of newspapers and then work online to draft and edit content for our own mini-newspaper.

Pasifika Stories

Explore various Pasifika legends, then re tell your own story creating illustrations, music and narration to enhance your uniquie Pasifika story. A variety of tools such as Paint, Art Rage, Moviemaker, Photostory, and Music creation packages will help students tell their story.

Sketch Up - Design School

Students will use 3D modelling programme Sketch up to create their own futuristic design for a student learning space or playground. Good design, safety and function will strongly feature in the design brief. The resulting project could be linked to a school or library context.

Writing for the Web

Learn how to structure your writing in a variety of genres for an online environment. Skills will include uploading to a blog and publishing a web news item. Resulting posts will be shared via the slc website and other appropriate online environments.
