Digital Photography and photo editing

During the first term of 2010 the Workshop Club after school group, which meets at the SLC on Tuesday afternoons, and the Senior Home school group which came to us on Wednesdays worked on digital photography and image editing.

We used GIMP (www.gimp.org) as our editing tool which is a great tool, and as it is open source software it is free to download and use. We explored the areas of photo composition, light, shade, colour, and photo manipulation.

I was pleased with the enthusiasm shown by both groups and impressed with the skills they developed and the great ideas they came up with.

In our final session we also used the online editors www.befunky.com and www.funphotobox.com which can achieve specialised results. Some of their work is displayed in the album found at this link.  Album of work.
