Creative Lantern-Makers

The Year of the Tiger, the Year of the Rabbit ... what year are you? This question was answered by children taking part in our Lantern-Making January holiday class, as they explored the idea of Chinese New Year.
Using the Internet, webcams and Microsoft Word they created sides for their lanterns that included pictures and chinese symbols for the year they were born, character
traits for that animal, and photo of themselves and their passions. Once printed the children decorated their sides with glue, glitter and stickers before coming back the next day to assemble their frames and lanterns, adding ribbons and a tea-light candle to finish it off! The end results showcase their creativity, craft and computer skills.
