Web Creation Holiday Programme

At both the Riccarton Learning Centre and the South Learning Centre the classes were full for the web creation programme run during the school holidays.  The students investigated the use of an online web creation tool at webs.com and created sites based around a personal interest.  As well as gaming sites (always popular) we had sites created about all sorts of interests as diverse as airplanes, care of cats, Heart kids in NZ, family trips, family sports and confessions of a shopaholic!!

Holiday programmes....Digital Makeover!

One of the programmes on offer during the school holidays was the "digital makeover" programme.  The students used webcams and online photo editors to "makeover" photos of themselves, and to explore the art effects possible using these progammes.  A lot of fun was had by all with some very funny make overs being created.

Chinese New Year is fun

Many Asian countries celebrate Lunar New Year - not just China. It lasts for several weeks and involves lots of celebration and feasting. The Book clubs have been busy making lanterns and adding them to the displays at their libraries. Here is South Library looking very festive.

If you want to see more lanterns the City Council is holding its annual Lantern Festival this weekend in Victoria Square.
